The 1^st session of the 36^th Synod of the ECCB took place at the Mother Teresa Community Centre in Háje, Prague, on 25-27 May.  

In late 1953, the following message was announced publicly, at least in the churches of the ECCB: „The Synod has resolved that the possibility of being ordained within the Evangelical Church of Czech Brethren be granted to all men and women who are properly prepared.“

There are already eight schools belonging to our church. We present the newest among the schools of the Evangelical Academy: a small primary school and kindergarten in Sudice near Boskovice, Moravia, Czech Republic.

We tend to treat people with intellectual disabilities like children. We neglect their physical and psychological development, which also includes sexuality. Diaconia West decided to go beyond the taboo and address this topic systematically.

Approximately a quarter of South Korea’s inhabitants now profess Christianity, making it more widespread than the traditional Buddhism, which otherwise has a very strong position in Eastern Asia. South Korea is also a major world power in sending out Christian missionaries.

This year has marked the second time that the International Days Against Racism have also taken place in the Czech Republic. This year’s topic is the call “Don’t stand aside…!”.

A commemorative meeting was held in Lety u Písku to mark the 80-year anniversary of the transport of the local prisoners to Auschwitz. Synodal Senior Pavel Pokorný participated on behalf of the Evangelical Church of Czech Brethren.
