Dear Readers, what can we offer you in this edition of the bulletin?
First, I would like to point out the brand new and first-ever Protestant Gymnasium.
The „School with a Story“, named Filipka, which belongs to our church and has been operating in Brno for five years now, has thus expanded.
The gymnasium is a bold and very useful step in the right direction - it wants to emphasize literacy, ethical education and education for social and civic responsibility, not to mention environmental responsibility. What more could one ask for? If I lived in Brno and was the appropriate age, I would not hesitate.
The second thing I would like to draw attention to is the home for the elderly called „Pomněnka“ /forget-me-not/. It is another one in the large array of homes belonging to the ECCB’s Diaconia; this specific one focuses on people suffering from dementia and Alzheimer’s disease. We are all probably aware of the fact that there are increasing numbers of people suffering from this disease and it is definitely a good thing if we can help them. There is no doubt their home will be beautiful, and what matters the most: they will be taken excellent care of, just like the students at the Gymnasium. Let’s rejoice in this and let’s give credit to the ECCB, it deserves it very much.
Wishing you a happy Advent and Christmas on behalf of the entire editorial board
Jana Plíšková
