On Sunday, 29 June 2025, a festive service was held at the Protestant Comenius Church (the so-called Red Church of the Brno I congregation), during which new graduates of the Protestant Academy's Seminar for Church Music (SCHEA) were commissioned to serve as cantors.

The successful graduates of the seminar are Zuzana Burešová, Lenka Gladavská, Hana Jelínková, Elena Kamasová, Alexander Koukol, Matyáš Moravetz, Tereza Oravcová, Jan Pikna, Michael Sojka, Josef Suchý, Jiří Zeman, Marta Zikmundová, Marta Židková and Ondřej Židek. For three years, they were trained in practical subjects such as choir conducting, music reading, organ playing, liturgical organ playing, voice training and solo singing, liturgical practice and congregation singing. The commission for cantor service was ceremoniously presented to them by Synod Senior Pavel Pokorný and Synod Curator Jiří Schneider. Individual parishes or other congregations can now appoint them as their cantors.

"We are glad that SCHEA has been around for 15 years. It is amazing that in such a small church as the Evangelical Church of Czech Brethren there are people who are committed to promoting church music and who choose to study this wonderful subject," said Ladislav Moravetz, cantor of the entire church and director of the seminar, in his speech, wishing the graduates all the best for their future: "I wish you every success in your practice, so that you can achieve what is useful and enriching. I hope that you will be surrounded by good people who appreciate your efforts. Be resilient in the face of destructive forces that are sometimes loud or sometimes whisper quietly within you. Do not fall prey to various self-deceptions. Music bears witness to God's goodness in this world – when else, if not during worship, should people become aware of this? It is a great honour that you are able to participate in worship to such an extent. But the main purpose of church music is not only to serve God, but also to serve people. Be attentive so that you know where your place is," concluded L. Moravetz.
